Vessels to Motherland

Bronx-native and electronic artist Adrian Martinez will join forces with the NYC-based electroacoustic duo Vessels to Motherland to present a 1-hour sound journey celebrating the mind, body, heart, and spirit of The Bronx. Sample interviews with Bronx residents, combined with the live performance of synthesizers, drum machines, keyboards, and electric violin, will intertwine in a complex, raw, and spacious sound fabric expressing darkness and light.

Adrian Martinez
Adrian M Martinez has a diverse career in music and sound. At his earliest, he attended The Harlem School of the Arts, eventually moving toward audio engineering for film as a young adult, navigating the downtown DJ scene as well for 10+ years. Adrian has worked as an audio rental tech, built consoles, desks, racks and speaker cabinets, built art projects for collaborators across the country, sang and danced live at the Delacorte Theatre for Public Works Shakespeare in the Park, travelling around the world for his crafts and has just built his own audio company with more in store for the future!

Vessels to Motherland

Vessels to Motherland
Bridging the ancient with the new, electroacoustic duo Vessels to Motherland create a music of its own breed, steering between heavy industrial and evocative ambient, navigating through seas of psychedelia, journeying with humans and robots alike. Living between chaos and order, the sound of Vessels to Motherland exists in the in-between, the interzones of human experience, at the junction of methods. Vessels to Motherland consists of composer/producer/pianist Danica Borisavljevic, and composer/producer/violinist Nikita Yermak, based in NYC. The union of the two classically-trained musicians coincided with a mutual calling for electronic music, psychedelic soundscapes, and otherworldly sound treatments. With decades of concert hall performances behind them, Borisavljevic and Yermak have synthesized a new chapter, a reminiscence from the future, with sails reaching to Roedelius’ piano tones, chains tied to Nine Inch Nails’ raw distortion, anchors extending to Murail’s spectralism… www.vesselstomotherland.com
