Bronx Arts Ensemble (BAE ) presented East Meets West - Indian artists Amaan Ali Bangash and his brother Ayaan Ali Bangash, along with members of BAE performed a concert designed to weave together the cultures of the East and West. According to Ayaan, the aim was to “joyfully explore the common musical ‘DNA’ of both traditions.”
Celebrate Women’s History Month with a performance by Mimi Jones and her latest project The Black Madonna featuring Jones, Leonor Falcon, Nir Felder, and Darrian Douglas. Almost all of the pieces in this contemporary jazz concert are composed by Jones, whose music is a fusion of styles including jazz, funk, folk, and rock.
