Vocalist and Bronx native JENNIFER JADE LEDESNA is an alumna of the New School Jazz Conservatory and LaGuardia School of the Arts. A Montreux Jazz Voice Competition finalist, Equity actress and “Betty Carter Jazz Ahead” composer, Ms. Jade often performs at Aux Trois Mailletz in Paris, Jazz Na Avenida in Salvador da Bahia, and Minton’s Playhouse in Harlem.
Ms. Jade has also appeared at Carnegie Hall in Bobby McFerrin’s “Instant Opera!”, in the world premiere tour of “Chapel/Chapter” with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Co., and in such international venues as Switzerland’s Chorus Jazz Club, Norway’s Silda Jazz Fest with her group Rajafro, and as well at Jazz at Lincoln Center with Bobby Sanabria’s Multiverse Orchestra!
A Grammy Board member, Ms. Jade has performed with David Amram, Elew, Dave Valentin, Roy Hargrove, Junior Mance, Benny Powell, Janis Siegel and Wynton Marsalis.
She recently starred as Tempest in the feature film SINCE I LEFT YOU and as Tinima in the opera-musical HATUEY: MEMORY OF FIRE!, and just returned from her summer tours of Europe and Brazil.
Pianist GARY FISHER has performed in “Jazz at Maybeck Hall”, the National Public Radio solo piano recital series, The Soapbox Gallery’s solo piano series and as a guest artist on Marian McPartland’s NPR show “Piano Jazz”. He has performed with jazz artists Chet Baker, Randy Brecker, Eddie Henderson, Lou Soloff, Orlando “Maraca” Valle, Dave Valentin and Jeff Watts. Gary can be heard on numerous recordings, such as Vincent Herring’s “A Jazz Christmas”, Malo’s “Senorita” and “Legends of Latin Jazz”, Byron Atkinson’s “All About Love” and “The One”, Jean Chardovoine’s “Tribute” (featuring Dave Valentin) and “Passions of the Heart” with Tony Dumas and Akira Tana.
