JENNIFER JADE LEDESNA is a Grammy-nominated artist from the Bronx, an alumna of New School Jazz and LaGuardia Arts. She is a Montreux Jazz Voice Competition finalist and a composer with “Betty Carter Jazz Ahead.” Jennifer performs at venues like “Aux Trois Mailletz” in Paris and “Minton’s Playhouse” in Harlem.
She has sung at Carnegie Hall and participated in the World Premiere Tour of “CHAPEL/CHAPTER” with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Co. Her international performances include Switzerland’s CHORUS Jazz Club, Norway’s “Silda Jazz Fest,” and Austria’s PORGY & BESS.
Jennifer has collaborated with renowned artists such as David Amram and Wynton Marsalis. Recently, she starred as Tempest in the film “SINCE I LEFT YOU” and “Tinima” in the opera-musical “HATUEY: MEMORY OF FIRE!” After touring France, Brazil, Argentina, and the Dominican Republic, she released “VOX HUMANA” with Bobby Sanabria’s Multiverse Big Band.
AUGUST NOËL is an Argentinian saxophonist, flutist and singer. He specializes in jazz and Latin American music, having performed both as a leader and sideman in renowned venues and festivals such as “Carnegie Hall: Nuevas Voces” and the “Buenos Aires Jazz Festival.” Noël started playing the piano at 9 years old, and the saxophone at 11. He continued his musical studies in the Conservatorio Superior de Música Manuel de Falla and Tribeca Jazz Institute.
MICHAEL KING, a talented pianist from Chicago, started playing drums in his church band at age 4 and transitioned to piano and organ by ear at 14. An alumnus of Lincoln Park High School and the Oberlin Conservatory, he earned merit scholarships to the Thelonious Monk Institute and the Ravinia Jazz Scholars program. King has performed with notable musicians like Bobby Watson and Kevin Eubanks and currently tours internationally with groups such as The Mike King Trio and Dee Dee Bridgewater.
TAMIR SHMERLING is a double and electric bass player from Ashkelon, Israel. He served in the Israeli Defense Forces Orchestra (2005-2008) and later performed with big bands in Tel Aviv and Holon while studying at Rimon School of Music. In 2008, he received a scholarship to Berklee and studied with notable musicians. Since moving to the US, he has performed and recorded with various artists, including Terri Lyne Carrington, Kevin Eubanks, and Lizz Wright.
CHARLES GOOLD is a prominent jazz drummer from New York City, blending modern hard bop with traditional Haitian and Afro Caribbean rhythms, influenced by his jazz saxophonist father and Haitian heritage. A Juilliard graduate, he received the Career Advancement Fellowship Grant in 2017 and has collaborated with notable jazz figures like Wynton Marsalis. His debut album, “RHYTHM IN CONTRAST,” released in February 2022, received critical acclaim and was featured in major playlists. Goold’s upcoming sophomore album, “TRIPTYCH LESPRI,” set for release on June 28, 2024, delves deeper into Haitian rhythms and includes collaborations with New York musicians of Haitian descent.
ORESTE ABRANTES, a percussionist and vocalist from the South Bronx with Cuban and Puerto Rican roots, began his journey in Afro-Cuban and Latin percussion at age three. He is now a prominent figure in the salsa scene, leading Kidd Ore Y Su Orquesta and performing at venues like Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. Oreste has collaborated with notable artists and groups, including Pablo Mayor’s Folklore Urbano and the Spanish Harlem Orchestra. He is also the conguero and lead vocalist for Bobby Sanabria’s Multiverse Big Band, contributing to the Grammy-nominated album VOX HUMANA.

Turn right onto Middletown Road. Proceed on Middletown Road and turn left onto Stadium Avenue and into parking lot. The Nature Center is located about 200 yards north of the tennis courts and track. .
