American Fanfares with American Composers Orchestra and BAE

BRYAN WALTERS is a Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, and educator. Classically trained, he excels in various genres and performs with NYC ensembles. Notably, he played trumpet and composed for the acclaimed PitchBlak Brass Band, touring nationally and collaborating with Pharoahe Monch. He co-leads The Phryg, a progressive funk quartet set to release their fourth EP, Don’t Be Scared, in Spring 2023. In 2019, he co-founded Extra Syrup Horns, known for soulful covers of 90s hip-hop and R&B, debuting at Blue Note NYC. This summer, he launched his solo electronic project, Duplicate, blending brass and electronic sounds. Walters has performed at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Burning Man.

AUDREY FLORES is a New York City-based freelance horn player and Juilliard graduate. She performs in Broadway productions and orchestras in the tri-state area, playing a 2017 Patterson Triple Horn. Since 2012, she has worked on various Disney shows and held positions at multiple theaters. Audrey is currently the Principal Horn for the Princeton Symphony and has played with prestigious orchestras. 

In 2017, she released her first solo album, featuring works by several composers. Besides performing, Audrey teaches at the Juilliard MAP Program and works with Midori and Friends to provide music instruction in public schools. She also arranges music for the Patriot Brass Ensemble, which performs for veterans, and is training to become a Certified Music Practitioner to provide therapeutic music. 

Audrey advocates for diversity in classical music and enjoys cooking, swimming, and spending time with her family, including her husband Steven, their two children, and their rescue pug, Rocky.

TIMOTHY JAMES ROBINSON (T. J.) was born and raised in Charleston, SC and began playing the trombone at age 8. He attended the Charleston School of the Arts for middle and high school which strengthened his passion to continue to pursue music professionally. He then moved to New York City to study classical trombone at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music and abroad at the Royal College of Music in London. He is now an active freelance musician in New York City. In addition to many classical ensembles, he has played with various groups such as the Artie Shaw Band, the Grammy-nominated Manhattan School of Music Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra, the acclaimed reggae group Burning Spear, the Revive Big Band, and tours around the world with the group Circular Time. T. J. was also an active member of the PitchBlak Brass Band where he composed, arranged, rapped, and played trombone. He has played at venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, The Blue Note Jazz Club, Dizzy's Coca-Cola Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Merkin Hall at Kaufman Center, the Kennedy Center in Washington D. C, and the Galliard Center in Charleston, SC.

NABATÉ ISLES is a Grammy-winning trumpeter, composer, and producer from New York City. His second album, *En Motion*, released on January 27, 2023, includes musicians like Sam Barsh, Eric Harland, and guest artists such as James Francies and Chuck D.

His debut album, *Eclectic Excursions* (2018), stayed six weeks in the JazzWeek Top 50, featuring artists like Elzhi and Christian McBride. In high school, he performed with jazz legends and appeared in a Coca-Cola commercial. He studied at the Eastman School of Music and New York University, where he honed his skills and participated in prestigious programs like the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz

Nabaté has collaborated with artists like Sting, Jill Scott, and Robert Glasper, and composed for films and diverse projects. He has contributed to Grammy-winning albums with the Christian McBride Big Band and co-released *Super Hero: Ode to Chadwick Boseman*. In broadcasting, he co-hosted a SiriusXM boxing show and produced content for NBA Radio. He hosts the podcast *Where They At*, featuring retired athletes.

DECLAN WILCOX is a New York City-based bass trombonist and educator actively involved in chamber, orchestral, jazz, and new music. He performs with Symphony in C, Princeton Symphony, and Syracuse Orchestra. His accolades include winning the 2022 International Women's Brass Conference competition and being a finalist in the 2020 American Trombone Workshop.

As a dedicated educator, Declan has worked with Yale's Music in Schools Initiative and served as trombone faculty at the Morse Summer Music Academy. He previously directed bands at the University of Colorado Middle School Ensemble, aiming to inspire a lifelong love of music.

An advocate for new music, he has premiered works by various composers and seeks to expand the brass chamber repertoire through arrangements and commissions. Declan holds a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Colorado and a Master of Music from Yale, where he received the John Swallow Prize.

SEAN STATSER is a fervent advocate for new music, collaborating with a variety of artists and ensembles in New York City. These include the Grammy-nominated Metropolis Ensemble, Ensemble LPR, and Cadillac Moon Ensemble, among others. As a founding member of NoiseBox, he has premiered over 50 works by celebrated composers like Jason Treuting and Elliot Carter.

Sean has performed with the American Symphony Orchestra, American Composers Orchestra, and Queens Symphony Orchestra at prestigious venues such as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. He has also participated in festivals like the Alba Music Festival and appeared three times at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. Recently, he performed with Metropolis Ensemble at Lincoln Center’s Out of Doors Festival under Maestro Tan Dun.

In addition to performing, Sean has recorded with artists such as jazz pianist Kenny Werner and has works published by Bachovich Music Publications. His recordings appear on labels like Naxos and Nonesuch. He holds an M.M. in Instrumental Performance from NYU and a B.A. from Fort Lewis College, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Since 2010, Sean has been part of the NYU Percussion Studies faculty and coordinates the NYU Steinhardt Broadway Percussion Seminar.
