Founder of the Bronx Arts Ensemble in 1972, William Scribner
is an active freelance bassoonist in the New York area
and principal bassoonist with the Long Island Philharmonic,
Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra and New Jersey State Opera Orchestra.
He has performed with the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra,
Brooklyn Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony, American Symphony Orchestra and in
numerous Broadway productions.
He is a member of the Phoenix Wind Quintet and Leonia (NJ) Chamber Players,
and has been a faculty member at the University of Connecticut at Storrs,
Queens College, Rutgers University at Newark and the Bloomingdale House of Music in New York.
Mr. Scribner is a Board member of the Bronx Council on the Arts and on the Advisory Board of
Hostos Community College, CUNY. He is also manager of the Colonial Symphony in Madison, NJ,
and has made many highly-praised arrangements for wind quintet,
published by International Opus.
